Each commissioned painting is a collaborative, six-week process, thoughtfully created for the space it will inhabit.

The experience begins with a personal consultation to explore the architecture, interiors, color palette, and textures of your space. Together, we'll establish a palette and creative direction that complements your home while remaining true to Shay's signature style.

From there, Shay creates an original, one-of-a-kind painting in her Birmingham, Michigan studio.

Commissions are available for works larger than 20 × 20 inches and require a 50% deposit to begin. The remaining balance is due upon completion, prior to delivery.

For clients outside Metro Detroit, the consultation takes place over Zoom, where we'll review photographs of your space, materials, furnishings, and color inspiration.

No. Every commissioned painting is created exclusively for its collector. Prints and reproductions of commissioned works will never be offered for sale.

Yes. A 20% trade discount is available to qualified interior designers and design professionals.

Shay welcomes collaborations with designers, architects, and creative studios on residential and commercial projects.

Framing is completed locally in a custom walnut wood frame, designed to complement the artwork without competing with it.

Paintings are presented without glass, allowing the original surface, brushwork, and texture to remain fully visible.

Custom framing requires approximately three additional weeks beyond the painting's completion or purchase.

Complimentary local pickup or delivery is available within 20 miles of Birmingham, Michigan.

Framed original paintings may be shipped anywhere within the United States at no additional cost. Each work is carefully packaged for safe transport.

Shay began selling commissioned paintings at just 16 years old.

A graduate of the University of Michigan with a BFA in Painting and Photography, her career has moved fluidly between fine art, photography, textile design, and creative direction.

Although her work has taken many forms, painting has remained a constant throughout her life.

While original paintings cannot be duplicated, commissions offer an opportunity to explore a similar palette, atmosphere, or composition in a size suited to your space.

Each new work is approached as an independent painting rather than a reproduction of an existing piece.
